Emotional Photo Of West Point Graduate Goes Viral

WEST POINT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork)-- A touching story of a West Point graduate is going viral.

Tears of joy filled Lieutenant Alix Idrache's eyes as he graduated from West Point Military Academy on May 21st. His story is now touching thousands.

While growing up in Haiti, Idrache was always fascinated with visiting U.S. forces, especially their military hardware. He vowed to become a military pilot and in just seven years his dream came true.

He has some thoughts for those interested in his story.

"If I can get one person convinced to invest the best they are or the best they can be for their platoon or squad, I think that would be enough success for me," Idrache said.

He credited his father for being his primary role model. He will go to the Army Aviation Center For Excellence in Alabama this July.
