LISTEN: Francesa Talks '86 Mets Ceremony TV Blackout, Syndergaard Ejection, Harvey Win

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- There was no shortage of story lines involving the Mets over the holiday weekend.

WFAN's Mike Francesa devoted much of his opening segment Tuesday to discussing the wild weekend at Citi Field.

Francesa blasted the Mets for not making sure Saturday's pregame ceremony honoring the 1986 world championship team was not televised.

"You can't have an '86 celebration and black it out to your fans," he said. "Do you know how many people complained to me that the thing wasn't on TV somewhere? It wasn't on Fox. I don't care if it was on Mets.com. You can't tell the people at the last minute to get it on Mets.com. Half the people don't know how to do that. That has to be on SNY unless Fox agrees to put it on TV."

In Saturday's game, Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard was ejected after throwing a pitch behind the Dodgers' Chase Utley.

"The young umpire screwed up," Francesa said. "It's my understanding -- and someone told me yesterday, I can't say who, but somebody told me yesterday that the umpires had talked as a crew before the series and before Game 2 that if something happens, we're warning them, next guy goes. The kid jumped the gun and threw him out."

The Mets' bullpen then struggled, and the Dodgers -- thanks to two Utley homers -- won the game, 9-1.

"They overreacted," Francesa said of the umps. "It messed up a good night."

Monday was a more pleasant day at Citi Field, as Matt Harvey finally had a strong outing, allowing no runs and two hits over seven innings in a 1-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

"If you're a Met fan, you're very happy that he had his velocity up, he had a very good changeup, he had an OK breaking ball," Francesa said. "But he was throwing the ball hard. He was throwing the ball hard in the seventh inning. And it looked like the old Harvey. I mean, he was popping the glove."
