30 With Murti Podcast: The Ageless Carlos Beltran

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Father Time has nothing on Carlos Beltran.

The veteran outfielder has been the Yankees' best hitter for the past two seasons. At age 39 he leads this year's team in home runs and RBIs. And he recently passed milestones with 400 career home runs and 1,000 extra-base hits that put him in select company and in the conversation for possible induction into Cooperstown.

In this week's episode of "30 With Murti," Sweeny talks to Beltran about growing up as a baseball player in Puerto Rico. He discussed Roberto Clemente's impact in his home country, the difficult transition for young Spanish-speaking players in the U.S., and other parts of his career, which began in Kansas City in the 1990s.

On June 22, Carlos and his wife, Jessica, will host "Let's Score," a gala held in New York City to benefit the Carlos Beltran Foundation and the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy in Puerto Rico. For information on tickets and sponsorship visit carlosbeltranacademy.com.
