Mets' Collins Out Of Hospital, Will Manage Tuesday Night's Game

MILWAUKEE (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Mets manager Terry Collins has been released from a Milwaukee hospital and is headed back to New York.

He is expected to manage Tuesday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Citi Field.

Collins, 67, was taken to Froedtert Hospital on Sunday for precautionary tests after not feeling well before the Mets' series finale at Milwaukee. He was held overnight at the hospital for observation after experiencing undisclosed symptoms.

All tests came back negative and Collins has been cleared by his doctor to fly back to New York and return to work, the team said.

Assistant general manager John Ricco said Collins became ill about 45 minutes before the game in Milwaukee and was treated by a Mets trainer and the Brewers' team physician.

Bench coach Dick Scott filled in for Collins on Sunday. The Mets lost to the Brewers, 5-3.
