Police: NJ Man Fatally Stabbed Following Wrestling Match In Lakewood
LAKEWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A New Jersey man was allegedly stabbed to death after getting into a wrestling match with another man at an apartment in Lakewood early Tuesday morning.
According to police, Gela Suqiashvilli, 54, of Lakewood, was found unresponsive with slash wounds to the face and torso shortly after 1 a.m. He was later pronounced dead.
Police arrested Dmitrii Dorzhinov, 53, who lived several doors down from Suqiashvilli in connection to the incident. According to authorities, an Dorzhinov allegedly stabbed Suqiashvilli after a wrestling match between the two escalated. Dorzhinov called 911 before leaving the scene.
Dorzhinov faces charges of murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
