Police: 17-Year-Old Boy Stabbed To Death In Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in the Bronx on Friday, police said.

"I lost my baby son," the grieving mother, Angela Ducasse, told 1010 WINS' Darius Radzius.

Ducasse said her life was shattered by the murder of her 17-year-old son Carl. The high school senior was about to graduate this month, but after a dinner on Friday he went out with a friend to get a milkshake and never made it home alive, CBS2's Brian Conybeare reported.

"I fight with him 'cause I never wanted him to go outside. He went five minutes and he's gone," Ducasse said.

Police confirm the botched robbery happened just a block from the family's home on Walton Avenue and 175th Sreet. The family said two suspects asked him for $2 and when Carl said he didn't have the money, one of the suspects pulled out a knife and plunged it into the victim's heart.

"For $2, he took his life," his mother said.

Dozens of relatives and friends gathered near a candlelight memorial outside the victim's apartment. Carl's uncle said he was a good kid who loved baseball and wanted to be a lawyer.

Police told CBS2 they know who the suspect is, but will only say he is a 17-year-old from Brooklyn who was still on the run as of Saturday evening.
