Police: Man Slashes Victim In Face Following Subway Dispute
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly slashed a man in the face with a boxcutter last weekend.
According to police, the suspect got into a verbal argument with the 45-year-old victim while on the southbound "M" train platform at Delancy Street and Essex at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3.
After throwing the victim's cell phone, the argument continued on the "M" train, until it spilled out onto the platform at Myrtle Avenue, where the suspect pulled out a boxcutter and slashed the victim in the face, police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition, according to police.
The NYPD describe the suspect as approximately 29 years old. A photo of the suspect can be viewed above.
