“At first she thought it was just the fireworks around the block, after the Fourth of July so that’s what she thought and, ‘I said no, you got shot,'” Anibal Villanueva said.

The bullet went through her right thigh, but police said it was meant for someone else. Villanueva just got caught in the crossfire while walking home on Union Avenue.

The street seemed empty on Saturday, but neighbors from the night before remember of flood of flashing lights and police officers everywhere who were scouring the area looking for clues.

A neighbor said the whole area was blocked off and that he wasn’t let outside of his residential building.

At the hospital, Villanueva was peacefully enjoying lunch while her son looks on, but he said he can’t wait to leave.

“She wants to go home and watch the ‘Price is Right’ and ‘Let’s Make a Deal,'” he said.

Police said the men who fired the bullets are still on the loose.
