113-Year-Old NJ Woman Now Holds Title Of Oldest American

PITTSTOWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP)-- A 113-year-old New Jersey woman is the new holder of the title of oldest American.

Born on December 12, 1902 in Newark, Adele Dunlap became the country's oldest person earlier this month following the death of a Massachusetts woman. She is now the 10th oldest in the world, WCBS 880's Kelly Waldron reported.

She lives at Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, New Jersey.

So how does she feel about her new status?

"Doesn't bother me," she said.

Dunlap told WCBS 880 her favorite holiday is Christmas and that she doesn't care for movies. When asked what's contributed to her longevity she simply says, "I just do what I'm supposed to."
