30 With Murti Podcast: Native New Yorker And Rangers GM Jon Daniels
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- New York City born and raised, Jon Daniels was a Mets fan and WFAN listener (one-time caller) as a kid. He grew up to become the youngest general manager in baseball history when he took over the Texas Rangers in 2005.
Daniels has had a successful run in his decade-plus on the job, building the Rangers into back-to-back American League champions in 2010 and 2011.
In this week's 30 With Murti, presented by NYY Steak, "Jon from Bayside" talks about getting into the baseball business and his rise to becoming the president of baseball operations and GM of the Rangers. He also discusses some of the inner workings behind the Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira trades that helped turn the Rangers into a winner.
