PSEG Long Island Hiking Power Bills By $10

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- Customers will not be pleased to hear that there will be another increase on their PSEG Long Island bills.

WCBS 880's Sophia Hall asked PSEG Long Island Spokesperson Jeff Weir what he wants to tell customers who say enough is enough with the increases on their bills.

"When there are changes to the bill there are things that are outside of our control. Like the past through cost or ... the power supply charge. What we want to do is make sure that the service that our customers are receiving are reflective of what they're paying," he said.

Customers on Long Island will see their bills jump by an average of $10, but why?

"The power supply charge you pay for the fuel and the energy to generate electricity here on Long Island. The charge for the August month is going up," Weir said.

This is the sixth straight month of increases.
