Onlookers Flock To The Hamptons To Catch A Glimpse Of A-Listers Soaking Up The Summer

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Hamptons is where A-listers flock to each summer and onlookers try to get a glimpse of their favorite star.

So where do the celebs really hang out?

Samantha Yanks, editor in chief of Hamptons Magazine, told CBS2's Jill Nicolini that you have the best chance of spotting a Hollywood star while they're dining out.

"I would say the hottest restaurant for celebrities across the Hamptons is Nick and Tonis," she said, "Hillaria and Alec Baldwin are frequent guests, Sir Paul McCartney was in there having a vegetarian treat."

The manager of the Italian restaurant has been tight lipped about her patrons, but CBS2 has heard that Jeff Gordon was just there too.

"We treat them the way we treat other people. If people want privacy we respect it," manager Julie Berger said.

Sag Harbo seems to be capturing the attention of a number of celebrity guests.

"Sag Harbor is just the most beautiful town on the water, and of course Billy Joel has just made the town so famous as a homeowner," Yanks said.

The long wharf marine in Sag Harbor is actually the deepest on the east end and that's why celebrities dock their yachts there to dine out.

"It's the un-Hampton. It's a little quieter than some of the other towns," Rachel Luria said.

But it still attracts some well known guests.

"There is a new restaurant called Doppo La Spiaggia. It's super beautiful. I was in there the other day and say Sara Jessica Parker," Yanks said.

Ownership was mum about who had stopped in for a bite.

"We never disclose names so they feel comfortable to come here, plus I'd like to think the food is fantastic," chef-owner, Maurizio Marfoglie said.

In Southampton the hottest new sushi place is Kozu.

"Howard and Beth Stern have been spotted here, and just last week Kim Kardashian was here," Yanks said.

Visitors have taken notice and are on the lookout for their favorite stars.

"Hopefully Brad Pitt, he would be nice," Diane Marshall said.

There are still a few more weeks until Labor Day to hunt for your favorite celebrity.

If you want to travel even further east to Montauk there are always celebrity sightings at the hip restaurant and hotel called 'The Surf Lodge' -- Taylor Swift and Leonardo DiCaprio have been spotted there.
