Police: Drunk Woman Crashes Car Into JFK Building, Injures National Guardsman

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Queens woman has been arrested after police say she crashed her car into the side of a building at John F. Kennedy International Airport, injuring a National Guardsman.

A police spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says Tanya Hernandez was arrested on drunken driving and drug charges following the Wednesday morning crash.

Spokesman Joe Pentangelo said there was no structural damage to JFK building 111 after the 30-year-old Ozone Park woman mounted a curb and slammed into its glass front.

He says a National Guardsman was released Thursday from Jamaica Hospital Center with wrist and knee injuries.

Hernandez allegedly made statements about drinking all night after she was arrested by Port Authority police, authorities said. A small amount of a of suspected controlled substance was also found in her vehicle, authorities said.

Pentangelo said Hernandez's license has been suspended on two prior occasions.
