Homes, Businesses Without Water Pressure After Main Break In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- A water main break caused about 1,000 customers of Aquarion Water in Greenwich to lose their water pressure early Monday morning.

The home and businesses effected were mainly in the Cos Cob riverside section of Greenwich, including the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where rooms on the upper floors had significant water pressure issues, WCBS 880's Fran Schneidau reported.

"It was in the early morning, when obviously there's very high demand between irrigation systems and people just getting ready for the morning," an Aquarion spokesman told WCBS 880. "There's already high demand, and when the water main actually broke, it's taking all that water away, so that resulted in low pressure."

Officials said the break had been isolated and work was being done to restore water pressure.
