NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A water main break sent brown, murky floodwaters pouring into the streets in Astoria, Queens Wednesday afternoon.

The water main ruptured at 30th Avenue and 12th Street near an auto repair shop, in the shadows of the Robert F. Kennedy Triborough Bridge, Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2.

Officials said the street was undermined by the water main break, and crews would have to be called in to dig up the street and repair the main.

Late Wednesday night, crews were still working and six customers were without water.
