Motorcyclist Hits Woman In Park Slope, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A motorcyclist hit a pedestrian in Park Slope, Brooklyn late Friday.

The motorcyclist was headed north on Flatbush Avenue at Sterling Place just before 5 p.m. when he struck, the 44-year-old woman on the street, police said.

He then lost control of his motorcycle and hit a tree, police and the MTA said.

The motorcyclist ended up in front of a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus. But the MTA claimed the motorcyclist never came into contact with the bus -- No. 4953 on the B41 route -- which was standing at the intersection at the time of the accident.

Still, police tape was strung up around the bus.

It was not known whether there was anyone on the bus at the time of the accident, the MTA said.

The woman who was struck was left in critical condition with head trauma at New York Methodist Hospital, police said.

The motorcyclist remained on the scene, where he was treated, police said.
