Death Of Man Found In Orange Apartment Probed As Homicide

ORANGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Prosecutors say the death of a man found unconscious in his apartment is being investigated as a homicide.

Orange police found 59-year-old Michael Agard when they responded to his Chestnut Street residence on Friday.

Agard was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after police arrived. But a cause of death has not been determined.

Prosecutors have not said why the death is considered suspicious. They declined further comment on the matter, citing the ongoing investigation.

The death is being investigated by Orange police and the county's major crimes task force.
