Woman Suffers Laceration In Woodside Hammer Attack, Attempted Robbery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A search was underway Tuesday, for a man who attacked a woman with a hammer in Queens.

Police said the suspect approached the woman on 67th Street and 41st Ave in Woodside, tried to grab her purse, hit her in the back of the head with a hammer, and made an anti-gay comment.

The 28-year-old woman suffered a gash, was treated and released.
