Suspect Wanted For Snatching Necklaces From Subway Riders In Brooklyn, Police Say
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Brooklyn are looking for a man who they said has been snatching chains from subway riders.
The suspect has struck at least twice this month, police said.
The first incident happened on Aug. 11. Police said a 30-year-old woman was on board a Queens-bound J train at Van Siclen Avenue and Fulton Street when the suspect snatched a chain from her neck as the doors to the train were about to close.
Then on Friday, police said the same man grabbed a necklace from a woman on board a northbound J train at the Chauncey Street as the doors were about to close and fled.
The suspect was seen on surveillance video. Police describe him as a black man in his 30s or 40s, about 5'11" tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark polo shirt, dark blue shorts and a blue hat.
