NYPD: 81-Year-Old Man Hit By FDNY Ambulance, Dies
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An 81-year-old man has died after being hit by a FDNY ambulance in Manhattan.
According to police, Gen Zhan, 81, of Manhattan, was hit on the corner of East 14th Street and 2nd Avenue at around 2:20 p.m. Police say the ambulance, operated by a 22-year-old man, was making a left turn onto 14th Street at the time of the crash.
Zhan was taken to Bellevue Hospital with severe body trauma and later died from his injures, authorities said.
Police did not identify the driver of the vehicle.
An investigation is ongoing.
