Police: 300 Rabbits, Guinea Pigs Found In NJ Home, Calf Found In Basement

BETHLEHEM, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Officials say guinea pigs, a calf and about 300 rabbits have been found at a New Jersey home.

The New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals made the discovery on Friday at the Bethlehem home in Hunterdon County, MyCentralJersey.com reported. Officials say 200 rabbits were found outside in cages full of feces and about 100 more were found inside the home.

The guinea pigs were found in the home along with a calf in the basement.

All of the animals have been signed over to the NJSPCA.

Charges have not yet been filed.
