Long Island Man Accused Of Driving Wrong Way On LIE While Intoxicated

YAPHANK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A Long Island man faces charges after he drove the wrong way on the Long Island Expressway, Suffolk Police said Monday.

Ivan Cerone, 23, of Bellerose, was arrested for driving eastbound in the westbound HOV lane near exit 52, according to police.

Police responded after receiving multiple 911 calls at around 2:20 a.m., according to authorities.

Cerone faces charges of driving while intoxicated, driving the wrong way, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving a motor vehicle below the minimum limit.
