Police: 72-Year-Old Man Brutally Beaten, Robbed In Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)-- Police are looking for a man who they say violently assaulted and robbed a 72-year-old man in the Bronx.

The victim was walking along Barker Avenue and Allerton Avenue around 2:50 a.m. on September 9 when a stranger approached him and demanded money, police said. The man then began to kick and punch the 72-year-old man in his head and body, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect continued to assault the victim, according to the report.

The victim suffered a broken eye socket and bruising to his elbow and hip. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he was admitted.

The suspect fled the location with the victim's wallet, police said.
