The boat operator requested emergency assistance, and harbor unit boats from Westchester County and Palisades Interstate Parkway police pulled up aside the disabled sailboat to escort it to shore.

A total of 35 passengers were on board -- most of them children, officials told 1010 WINS. All were wearing life vests.

A group of children in life jackets were seen aboard the boat, while an adult played a guitar for them.

The passengers were returned to the dock in Yonkers.
