Boy, 12, Robbed At Knifepoint In Southern Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Monday for a suspect who threatened a 12-year-old boy at knifepoint in far southern Brooklyn.

The boy was walking to school around 7:25 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2 at an unspecified in the 60th Precinct, which includes Coney Island, Sea Gate, and parts of Gravesend, Brooklyn. The suspect came up and asked to use his cellphone, police said.

The boy let the man use the phone, but when he tried to get it back, the man pulled out a knife and said he would stab the boy if the boy followed him, police said.

The suspect ran off west on Shore Parkway, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male between 25 and 30 years old, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds, with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a blue and white striped hooded sweater, dark colored shorts over dark colored pants and white sneakers.
