NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Apple’s new iPhone 7 officially hit stores Friday.
Apple fans across the world lined up for hours, even days to get their hands on the new product, which was unveiled last week.
Jamie Gonzalez, of Queens, was first in line at Apple’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue.
He had been waiting there since Aug. 25.
“It’s kind of hard. I cannot wait to go back home and stay there for as long as I want,” he told 1010 WINS’ Glenn Schuck. “I haven’t slept in my bed since 23 days ago.”
The iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 7 in jet black sold out in pre-orders and won’t be available for walk-in customers, the company said. The regular iPhone should be available in stores in other colors.
The new iPhone features improved camera resolution, zooming and editing capabilities, as well as a waterproof design.
