9-Year-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted In Bronx Elevator, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 9-year-old girl was sexually assaulted while in an elevator in a Bronx apartment building earlier this week, police say.

The NYPD says an unidentified man followed the 9-year-old into an elevator in a residential building on Olinville Avenue at around 10:30 a.m on Oct. 3.

Once inside the elevator, the man allegedly kissed the girl on the cheek, police said. He then groped the girl as she attempted to exit the elevator into the hallway.

NYPD describes the man as between 18 to 25 years old, standing 5'9" to 5'11" and weighing around 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweater, dark colored pants and a black baseball cap with white lettering.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect, which can be viewed above.
