Officers were on the lookout for the two and spotted a suspicious vehicle in front of Saunders High School at 5:30 p.m., police said. When they approached the vehicle, they found one of the two men inside was wearing a full-body clown suit.

Angelo Rojas and Gabriel Garabito, both 18, were arrested on charges of criminal trespass and loitering. Additional charges may be added.

"We take all threats serious and this should be an example to all who choose to engage in this type of criminal activity and there are consequences for this type of behavior," said Police Commissioner Charles Gardner.

Reports of creepy clowns menacing people have popped up throughout the Tri-State Area recently. The viral phenomenon spread across the country, prompting stepped up security measures by various police departments. One recent sighting involved a man dressed as a clown allegedly pulling out a knife in the subway.
