Jets' Eric Decker Undergoes Hip Surgery

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Jets wide receiver Eric Decker underwent successful hip surgery Tuesday, the team announced.

Decker was placed on injured reserve last week with a season-ending torn rotator cuff. Doctors said he needed surgery on both the shoulder and his hip. Once he is off crutches, he will undergo the procedure on his shoulder, the team said.

The estimated recovery time for his shoulder is eight months, which would likely keep him out of OTAs and minicamp next year.

Decker initially hurt the shoulder at Buffalo in Week 2 and the condition worsened at Kansas City the following week.

Decker caught nine passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Last year, he had 80 receptions for 1,027 yards and 12 TDs.
