'The Trend' With Rebecca Granet: Christina Milian

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- In this episode of "The Trend," 1010 WINS' Rebecca Granet chats with actress, singer, author and winemaker Christina Milian.

Milian stopped by and talked about starring as Magenta in the The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Oct. 20 on Fox and showed off some of her Viva Diva wines.

RG: Let's talk about the RHPS. This is a tribute to the original which came out by the way on your birthday in 1975.

CM: Really?

RG: Yes. September 26, right?

CM: Ooh there's a tie to that somehow. I've always believed in those little things, those little moments that actually mean something so this means even more to me because I've always been a fan of the movie for many, many many years and now actually hearing that so makes me really excited.

RG: For the new generation seeing this for the first time, you're their Magenta they've never seen anything else before how would you explain it to them.

CM: I'm a huge fan of the original and this new version is more so a re-imagining. When I was a kid and I saw it back then I didn't know what it was about ... but I just remember certain scenes that stuck out to me like when they were in the dinner, the big dinner at the table and I remember they found out they were eating Eddie. So if you know who Eddie is, it was played originally by Meatloaf and this time around we've got Adam Lambert -- he's got an amazing voice - he killed it. He's so good. We've got these great scenes now with these new actors -- I guess you could say technically new now because a lot of them weren't even born then. You have Victoria Justice, Tim Curry who was in the original ... he's the narrator. Ben Vereen is playing the criminologist and Tim Curry, for those that don't know, he played Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the original which is now played by Laverne Cox.

For the new generation, I hope you guys check it out. It's going to be so good. It's very colorful, it's very bright ... the time warp we've adjusted. It's the same time warp ... there's just a couple little extra hand moves in the moments but it's all the same.

RG: You have such a great cast. Who's the funniest on set?

CM: Oh God. I am the party girl of the group, I'm the kid of the group. As far as like a jokester? Everyone's pretty funny. You know who's funny? Ryan McCartan and so is Ben Vereen. He's a sweetheart. When he walks in the room he gives everyone a hug.
