Police: Several Giants, Jets Fans Lose Thousands In Ticket Scam

FRANKLIN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Several Jets and Giants fans lost thousands of dollars as police say they were part of a ticket scam.

CBS2's Jessica Layton reports the Franklin Borough Police Department say Alicia Pallozzi was advertising the ultimate experience for football fans – luxury box seats for Giants and Jets games at MetLife Stadium with the promise of buffets and drinks.

However, police claim Pallozzi scammed at least ten victims out of thousands of dollars.

Police say Pallozzi, who also goes by the names Alicia Kurtyk and Alicia Kaegi, advertised those incredible ticket packages on social media sites like Facebook, met her victims face-to-face to take their cash, and not only never delivered the tickets, but now she's disappeared.

With a warrant out for her arrest, detectives want to get a word of caution out to potential victims looking to see a game for a good deal.

"If the deal seems too good to be true and it's not an official site, think twice before making the purchase," said Franklin Police Detective Nevin Mattessich. "I'm not saying not to trust anyone, but you definitely have to think twice if you're not familiar with the person."

Among the victims are a group of coaches from a youth football league who were excited to take their players to see their first ever NFL game.

Local authorities are working with police in Maryland, where Pallozzi may be visiting family.
