Madonna Holds Pop-Up Concert In Washington Square Park On Election Eve

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- While Hillary Clinton held a rally in Philadelphia the night before Election Day, Madonna staged a popup concert in support of Clinton in Washington Square Park.

Madonna announced on Instagram that the concert would be held at 7:30 p.m.

Video showed Madonna playing an acoustic guitar along with two backup guitarists, and performing her songs "Don't Tell Me," "Rebel Heart," and "Like a Prayer," among others, as well as John Lennon's "Imagine" and Pete Seeger's "If I Had a Hammer."

In video posted by Billboard, she urged voters: "Vote with your heart, vote with your mind, vote with your spirit, vote with your soul. Save this country, please."

Both presidential campaigns hit swing states hard. Clinton also made the rounds in Michigan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania – first for an appearance in Pittsburgh, then ending the night with the rally in Philadelphia. At the rally were her husband, former President Bill Clinton, as well as President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Meanwhile, Republican nominee Donald Trump was also making a last-minute push with a whirlwind schedule included five states – Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Michigan.
