Woman, 51, Struck And Killed While Crossing Street In Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A 51-year-old woman was struck by a car and killed while crossing a street in Stony Brook on Thursday evening.

Police said Stephanie Semler, 51, of Lake Grove, was crossing Route 347 and Moriches Road around 5 p.m., when she was hit by a Honda Civic, driven by a 25-year-old Nesconset woman.

Semler was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where she died.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
