Woman, 75, Killed When Grandson Accidentally Strikes Her With Vehicle In Queens, Sources Say
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 75-year-old woman was killed this weekend after her grandson accidentally backed a vehicle into her in Queens, police sources said.
Police were called around 10:30 a.m. Saturday after the woman was struck at 83-12 267th St. in Bellerose, Queens.
Police learned that Chandrawati Lathan, 75, had been struck as a 17-year-old boy backed a 2004 Toyota Sequoia into a driveway, the NYPD said. The boy was Lathan's grandson, sources told 10110 WINS.
The woman was taken to Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Police told CBS2 there was no criminality involved in the woman's death.
