Crowds Gather At Jackie Robinson Park For Glimpse Of Deer Hanging Out In Harlem

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's something you don't see every day in Harlem -- a deer!

As CBS2's Raegan Medgie explained, crowds lined up all day outside Jackie Robinson Park just to get a closer look.

Some people were taken by surprise as they walked down the street.

"He's beautiful and he's not shy at all," Toni Lee said.

At 145th Street, the main attraction is on the move and so is the crowd.

"You can tell we're all city folk because we're out here with out cameras and we're like, 'It's a deer,'" Lee said.

"I heard of a couple raccoons on my block a couple years ago, but this is the first time of deer in the park," Brice Davis said.

Keysean Borandax thinks the deer is Rudolph.

"Rudolph is a baby too, like that deer," he said.

Others think it might be someone else.

"It's Bambi," Emmanuel Simantiris said.

Whatever you want to name him, New York City Parks' Urban Park Rangers are making sure everyone behaves.
