Police: Man Arrested After Assaulting Woman, Locking Her In Trunk Of Car
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A New Jersey man accused of assaulting a woman and locking her in the trunk of a car was arrested on Wednesday night.
Police say they heard the 25-year-old woman screaming for help from the trunk of a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville parked on South 20th Street and 19th Avenue in Newark while they were responding to a report of a man hitting a woman in the street shortly after 8 p.m.
Officers were able to free the woman by forcing the trunk open. She was then taken to University Hospital for treatment, police said.
Further investigation into the incident led to the arrest of suspect Kevin Little, 35, of Irvington.
Little now faces aggravated assault charges.
