Amid Civilian Deaths And Displacement In Aleppo, New Yorkers Protest At Russian UN Mission

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) --New Yorkers gathered in protest and solidarity outside of Russia's Permanent Mission to the U.N. on Tuesday night.

The dead number in the hundreds of thousands, the displaced number in the millions.

Yahi Amatos told 1010 WINS' Al Jones that he thinks he knows why the world ignored the four-year war that ripped apart Syria's largest city.

"Nobody gets involved because they Arab, the Muslim get killed and nobody cares. Unfortunately, America is doing nothing," he said.

The loud but peaceful protestors have been kept 100 yards away from the Russian Mission.

Organizers described the gathering as a condemnation of "genocidal attacks from the regime and its allies, Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah."

Naiomi told WINS' Jones the U.S. should have done more.

"American is involved in wars all over the globe, officially, unofficially. By selling arms you become complicit," she said.

As Aleppo falls, one man said Obama did nothing, and wonders what Trump will do.
