"We're trying to tell a story about Khayelitsha, the township," choreographer Nolyuanda "Nolly" Mqulwana told CBS2's Cindy Hsu. "Because a lot of people out there have a cliche that when you go to Africa, or when you go to South Africa -- you're going to see animals, lions, running up and down. But now were trying to show them that we live a normal life, like anyone else."

The cast of the Drama Desk-nominated performance represents all different regions of Africa, coming from countries like Tanzania, South Africa, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe. Proceeds from the show will also help provide funding for school children in Africa.

You can catch the performance at the New Victory Theater until Jan. 1.
