LI Mailbox Blown Up With Fireworks Outside Hampton Bays Home, Cops Say

HAMPTON BAYS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a suspect accused of blowing up a mailbox in front of a Long Island home.

Suffolk County police say the owners found the charred remains in front of their home on Romana Drive in Hampton Bays on Dec. 17.

Police say the suspect -- or suspects -- used "Turning Head" fireworks to blow up the structure, CBS2 reported.

Authorities are offering up a $5,000 reward for any information related to the incident.
