NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Travelers should pack some patience and extra time as they head to John F. Kennedy Airport.

There are heavy delays into the airport because of a major water main break that has closed part of the outbound Van Wyck Expressway.

Travelers are being urged to take the AirTrain until repairs are made.

Port Authority said crews are assessing the damage and starting to fix the roadway.
