Cashless Tolls Come To Two Bridges In The Rockaways

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Cash is no longer accepted at two MTA bridges in the Rockaways.

Cashless tolling is now in effect at the Marine Parkway–Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge and the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge in Queens.

Sensors read E-ZPass tags or take pictures of license plates.

Drivers without E-ZPass will get a bill in the mail.

Officials say cashless tolling will help reduce congestion and improve travel time.
