North Carolina Man Accused Of Taking Stolen NYPD Cruiser On Joy Ride
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A North Carolina man is accused of stealing an NYPD cruiser and taking it on a three-mile joy ride.
The situation started with a traffic stop on the Upper West Side overnight.
Police said 26-year-old Joseph Pinkcett was high on drugs when he hopped in the cruiser and drove it from West 74th Street, up Amsterdam Avenue to 135th Street.
Pinkcett faces several charges, including driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence and grand larceny.
