Massapequa 6th Graders To Attend Middle School

MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Sixth graders in Massapequa, Long Island will now be attending middle school after all.

New York State has overruled last month's decision by the Massapequa school board to keep 550 soon-to-be sixth graders in elementary school. That move put a stop to plans that had been in place for more than a year.

Upset parents then called on the state's education commissioner to over-rule the board's decision.
