VIDEO: Morning Rush Subway Service Disrupted By Man Walking On Tracks
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - It was a rough morning commute for subway riders in Manhattan due to a person on the tracks.
Service on the 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines experienced delays.
A man was on the tracks between Christopher Street and 14th Street on the 1, 2 and 3 line at around 8:01 a.m.
That resulted in power being switched off to all tracks between 34th Street and Christopher Street.
The man was ultimately taken into custody and power was restored at around 8:39 a.m., the MTA said.
"We commend the train and police personnel who got this trespasser removed safely and thank our customers for their patience during the ordeal," an MTA spokesperson said.
