NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A local effort was underway Monday evening to help some of the animals displaced by Harvey.

41 animals from Houston were relocated to the Tri-State Area.

20 shelter dogs arrived at the ASPCA adoption center on the Upper East Side, while the other 21 were brought to the Connecticut Humane Society in Newington earlier in the day.

  1. Why on earth would the ASPCA in NYC be bringing in more dogs when there are many dogs destroyed daily at the NYC Animal Care and Control? There were 39 dogs destroyed last month and they already destroyed dogs this month as well as currently 8 dogs to be destroyed today on the At Risk list. This is a daily list of dogs and cats to be destroyed. Why is the ASPCA failing to save the dogs/cats in their home city?
