2 Injured When Tanker Truck Flips Over On I-80 In Hackensack, Multiple Lanes Closed

HACKENSACK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Two people were injured Thursday evening when a truck flipped over on Interstate 80 in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Police said a gas tanker hit another vehicle, which caused it to flip and spill fuel onto the westbound lanes of the expressway. Both drivers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

As late as just before midnight Thursday, all westbound lanes remained closed between exits 65 and 66.

Express lanes on the eastbound side also remained closed.

It was not clear late Thursday night whether the morning commute might be affected.
