RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Suffolk County Police found a 4-foot alligator at a Ronkonkoma home, the Suffolk County SPCA said.
Suffolk Police immediately contacted the SPCA and Department of Environmental Conservation police after making the discovery.

“Alligators do not make good pets and are illegal to own without a license,” said Suffolk SPCA Chief Roy Gross.
