Combining Adler’s commanding style and Donnelly’s folksy charm, they set the standard for all news stations around the country from the 1970s and early ’80s.

  1. I’m a long way from New York now, out in Central Pennsylvania, but I am glad to know that Wayne Cabot is handling morning drive for WCBS. Wayne has a great voice and style and is known to be a class act. He combines the best of Lou Adler and Jim Donnelly in his own way. I know something about it since Jim Donnelly is my father, and I am very proud of what he accomplished. He and Lou Adler were a perfect pair on the air. My dad passed away in 2002, but I know if he were alive today, he’d be listening to Wayne every morning, and he’d be happy to hear it.
