NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – It’s the end of an era.

After 46 years on the air, Friday marks the final edition of Charles Osgood’s “Osgood File” feature on WCBS Newsradio 880.

“We’ve had some pretty fine broadcasters walking the halls of this building and I got to know some of them and sometimes, in fact almost every day I learned something from them,” Osgood told WCBS880’s Alex Silverman. “From the Walter Cronkites and Charles Kuralt and sometimes they’d make suggestions to me about how I could make my work better.”

Last week, the longtimeWCBS Newsradio 880 personality announced he’s ending the feature for health reasons.
