NYPD Sergeant Accused Of Manslaughter Due In Court

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - An NYPD sergeant is due in court Wednesday to face manslaughter charges in the death of a rookie officer a year ago.

Officer Bianca Bennett, 27, was riding with Sgt. Randolph Price near City Island last February when their SUV flipped over and burst into flames. Bennett was killed and Price was injured.

Price, 32, is charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Authorities say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
